I'm going to do a round robin journal with a group of friends. As I had the day off today I decided to make my first page. My theme is going to be "Children from a bygone age".

Mixed media Monday

Here is my contribution for this week on the theme of Maps. I liked the idea of a vintage looking tag.

Think Monday Think ATC

The theme today was female artists. My first thought (like most others' it seems) was Frida Kaloh, but so many others chose her that I decided to choose someone else. One of my favourite female artists is Laurel Burch, I love her colourful creations. Laurel died from a crippling desease last September, I made this ATC as a tribute to her. (Towards the end of my blog you can see a series of ATCs that were inspired by her work shortly after her death. They have all now moved to the homes of some of my swap community friends).

Gothic Arches Challenge

This week the Gothic Arch challenge was to use flourishes. I liked the idea as it has so many possibilities, just about anything, as long as it has a flourish. I embossed a couple of flourishes on two sides of the arch to complement the girl with her basket of flowers, which I felt really suited not only the theme, but also the lovely spring sunday.

ATC booklet

Found out a few days ago that the little booklet that Tim Holz describes in the chapter on distressing on his DVD, if you make it out of a piece of A4 paper, will hold 2 ATCs beautifully, so I have just been making some for friends. Here are some pickies

Birthday Card
Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
